Dougga in pictures.
Often called the finest Roman site in Tunisia, Dougga spreads across a hillside with a remarkably intact Capitol, a theatre, temples, and paved streets. Built mainly in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD over an older Numidian settlement, it still reveals how a provincial African-Roman town was laid out. The archaeological site is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
