East Africa
The Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the islands of Zanzibar.
Tanzania is a land of superlatives and soul-stirring landscapes, offering an unmatched immersion into the wild heart of Africa. Home to the legendary Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain on Earth, it beckons adventurers to its snowy peaks. Below, the vast plains of the Serengeti host the world's most dramatic wildlife migration, a primal journey of millions that defines the rhythm of the savannah. The Ngorongoro Crater, a lush volcanic caldera, provides a natural sanctuary for the Big Five in a setting of ethereal beauty. Beyond the safari circuit, the 'Spice Islands' of Zanzibar offer a sensory explosion of fragrant markets, winding Stone Town alleys, and turquoise waters lapping against white sand beaches. Tanzania's commitment to conservation and its rich tapestry of over 120 ethnic groups—including the iconic Maasai and Hadzabe—create a travel experience that is as culturally profound as it is naturally spectacular. From the depths of Lake Tanganyika to the heights of the 'Roof of Africa,' Tanzania is a destination that captures the imagination and never lets go.
Best time to go
The dry season from June to October is the best time for wildlife viewing, as animals are easier to spot and the Great Migration river crossings occur in the Northern Serengeti. The calving season in January and February is also excellent for seeing newborn wildebeest in the Southern Serengeti. Zanzibar is best visited during the dry months of June–October and January–February.
