Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park is unlike any other wildlife reserve in Africa. Its defining feature is the Etosha Pan, a vast, shimmering salt crust that covers 25% of the park and is visible from space. During the dry season, this 'place of dry water' becomes a theater of life. Because water is scarce, animals are forced to gather at specific waterholes, providing spectators with the incredible sight of lions, elephants, giraffes, and the rare black rhino all drinking in the same vicinity. The park is famous for its floodlit waterholes at its main camps, allowing for exceptional nocturnal wildlife viewing. The stark, white backdrop of the pan creates a high-contrast environment that makes for stunning photography and a unique sense of being in a prehistoric world where the wild still reigns supreme.
