African Renaissance Monument in pictures.
Standing 49 metres tall atop a hill overlooking Dakar, the African Renaissance Monument is the tallest statue in Africa, depicting a family striding toward the future. Inaugurated in 2010, it offers panoramic views over the city and ocean from a viewing platform inside the figure's crown. The bold, dramatic landmark has become an emblem of modern Senegal.
